Discover Shanghai souvenirs inspired by Xuhui's traditional crafts
Shanghai unveiled the shortlist for its 2026 "Shanghai Gifts" products, with 290 items selected citywide. Xuhui district saw nine items selected, representing four intangible cultural heritage (ICH) items and reflecting the district's efforts to preserve its cultural heritage.
The four ICH items are enamelware by Lao Feng Xiang, Yunying pankouknots, Qiao Jia Shan rice cakes, and silk products from the Shanghai Silk Group.
The Shanghai Silk Group's selected items include the Flowing Magnolia set of earrings and silk hair ties, inspired by Shanghai's white magnolia, the city flower; a scarf and brooch set pairing a silk scarf with a ginkgo brooch, incorporating elements of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region's Atlas silk weaving and dyeing craft; and a framed silk brocade artwork depicting Blackstone Apartments, a 1924 building at No 1331 Middle Fuxing Road, made of 100 percent natural mulberry silk.
Qiao Jia Shan's panda-themed gift box offers Chinese rice cakes in four flavors: red bean paste; sea-salt, chia seed and peanut; coconut; and black sesame.
Lao Feng Xiang's enamel pieces include a butterfly brooch and a botanical garden brooch, both set in 925 silver with Shanghai-style enamel, and a solid gold horse ornament with cloud motifs.
Yunying's knotted items feature a "Four Seasons Fragrance" sachet necklace in four seasonal variants — apricot blossom, lotus, osmanthus, and wintersweet — and an "Eight Horses" brooch set.
