Positioned in Minhang district, Pujiang Chip City embodies three key functions: it simultaneously operates within a national economic and technological development zone, a national high-tech industrial development zone, and a national comprehensive bonded zone. 

As an integral part of the Caohejing National High-Tech Development Zone, it is a cornerstone in the construction of Shanghai's Science and Technology Innovation Center and Minhang's "National Industry-City Integration Demonstration Zone."

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Pujiang Chip City, as a professional segment of Lingang Pujiang International Science and Technology City, aims to actively establish a characteristic integrated circuit industrial park. Its vision is to become a leading domestic IC innovation R&D and headquarters base, covering a planned area of 2.78 square kilometers.
