The Zhangjiang Artificial Intelligence Island (AIsland) is one of the core carriers for the industrial innovation and application of artificial intelligence in Pudong New Area, Shanghai.

Located in the central area of Zhangjiang Science City, the first phase of AIsland covers an area of 66,000 square meters with a total above-ground construction area of 100,000 square meters. The second phase of AIsland is still under construction.

The park is close to key university resources such as ShanghaiTech University, Fudan University (Zhangjiang Campus), and Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Zhangjiang Science Park.

Furthermore, it also sits adjacent to key research institutions such as the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) R&D Center, the Tsung-Dao Lee Institute, the Chinese Academy of Sciences Pudong Science and Technology Park, and Zhangjiang Lab.

The goal is to establish AIsland as a new landmark for AI in China, serving as a hub for industry convergence, academic exchange, innovation, and application demonstration. The aim is to make it the most influential and representative AI industrial cluster, showcasing the latest technologies and highest levels of application in AI in Shanghai and even throughout the country.
