Shanghai New Energy Vehicle & Key Parts Industrial Base, located in Waigang town, Jiading district, is a part of the Shanghai International Automobile City. The leading industries are high-tech industries, including new energy vehicles (NEVs), intelligent automobiles and automotive electronics, as well as advanced manufacturing industries, such as intelligent manufacturing and the robotics industry.

It has been recognized by relevant authorities as a national demonstration base for new industrialization, a demonstration base for emerging industries of strategic importance (in the field of NEVs) in Shanghai, a training base for the Chinese automobile industry, and a demonstration zone of well-known brands in Shanghai.
