The China Beidou Industrial Technology Innovation West Hongqiao Base (Beidou West Hongqiao Park), located in Qingpu district, opened in 2013. It was one of the first Beidou industrial parks in China to be officially put into operation, with more than 100 renowned enterprises gathered there. Based on a professional innovation and incubation support system, it has been making active efforts to build a science and technology innovation center and an industry ecosystem with global influence for the Beidou Navigation Satellite System (BDS).

The R&D and transformation functional platform of the BDS, one of the first 16 functional platforms in Shanghai, landed in the park in 2019, accelerating the development capacity of the BDS industry.

The "Beidou West Hongqiao Development Model" of the industrial cluster, formed by the park and supported by the government and professional platforms, has gathered resource agglomeration and achieved cross-border integration. It has become a model for the development of specialized and professional industrial parks.

The park will stand in the West Hongqiao area and influence the Yangtze River Delta. At the same time, it aims to build the "Beidou + Intelligent Information" industrial cluster and boost the output value to more than 100 billion yuan ($13.93 billion), contributing to the national strategy of the integrated regional development of the Yangtze River Delta and promoting Shanghai as an excellent global city.
