Guide to MXGP Motocross World Championship in Shanghai

The MXGP Motocross World Championship - one of the world's top-tier motorbike racing events - will be held at the Shanghai International Off-Road Racing Circuit in Shanghai from Sept 14 to 16.

As the penultimate stop of the global 2024 MXGP series, the Shanghai leg promises to deliver intense battles for all-important points.

This year's event will feature over 70 riders in 33 teams from 22 countries. Representatives from nine renowned international motorcycle manufacturers will participate.

Competition times and entry information:

Check-in times: 8:30 am-4:30 pm, Sept 15-16

Reminders: Audiences from overseas must present their passports.

Check-in points:

- Regular audience: Ticket checks at Gate 1, facial recognition, and security screenings are needed.

- VIP audience: Ticket checks at Gate 1 and Gate 3, facial recognition, and security screenings are needed (VIPs with wristbands can use the shuttle service at Gate 2.)

Public transport information:

- From Hongqiao airport:

(Option 1)

Metro Line 10 (to Laoximen Station) → Transfer to Metro Line 8 (to Shendu Highway Station Exit 2)

(Option 2)

Metro Line 10 (to South Shaanxi Road Station) → Transfer to Metro Line 1 (to Xinzhuang Station) → Transfer to Metro Line 5 (to Fengxian Xincheng Station Exit 3)

- From Pudong airport:

(Option 1)

Metro Line 2 (to People's Square Station) → Transfer to Metro Line 8 (to Shendu Highway Station Exit 2)

(Option 2)

Metro Line 2 (to People's Square Station) → Transfer to Metro Line 1 (to Xinzhuang Station) → Transfer to Metro Line 5 (to Fengxian Xincheng Station Exit 3)

- Shuttle bus service:

The Haiwan Express shuttle bus service runs every 15-20 minutes at Fengxian Xincheng Station (Metro Line 5) and Shendu Highway Station (Metro Line 8) – providing direct access to the Shanghai International Off-Road Racing Circuit.

Live activities:

In addition to the thrilling races, the event will feature a variety of exciting off-track activities.

Riders of Kawasaki, KTM, and Honda will meet the fans and sign autographs. Attendees can also enjoy test rides, product launches, and exclusive giveaways at various exhibition stands.

The stage area will host electrifying performances including electronic music shows, freestyle motocross displays, and traditional drum performances.

There'll also be magic shows, bubble shows, clown acrobatics, dance performances, and lion dances.
