The Suzhou Creek Water Sports Center will serve as the stage for the 2025 Shanghai Regatta City Elite Competition from July 11 to 13. This event, a highlight of the 2025 Shanghai Summer International Consumption Season, is a major international water sports gathering in Putuo district.

It has drawn 36 rowing teams and nearly 400 enthusiasts from 10 cities across the country to the banks of the Suzhou Creek, promising an exciting blend of competition, technology, and fitness.

The competition features a wide range of participants, including teams from businesses, clubs, and professionals such as medical and firefighting personnel. Additionally, several well-known universities will be competing.

This year has seen the addition of a youth category, marking the first time that over 100 young rowers will race on Suzhou Creek and help to make water sports more accessible to young people.

To improve the viewing experience, organizers have introduced a real-time data system and a digital viewing platform. Spectators can use NFC and QR code technology on signboards at the venue to access live data like rowers' stroke rates and speeds, along with expert commentary and analysis.
