Serbian doctoral student lauds China's modernization, global influence
Filip Filipovic is a doctoral student from Serbia at Fudan University. He moved to Shanghai at a young age, accompanying his parents who came to work in China.
Having lived in China for 20 years, Filipovic has witnessed the country's remarkable development into a major global power.
This summer, Filipovic returned to Serbia and traveled on the Chinese-built railway from Belgrade to Novi Sad. He was deeply impressed by China's high-speed rail construction capabilities.
As a student at the School of International Relations and Public Affairs, Filipovic aims to deepen his understanding of China and serve as a lasting bridge of friendship between China and Serbia in both academic and diplomatic fields.
He was particularly moved by this year's cooperation agreements between the two nations, which include support for 50 young Serbian scientists to conduct research in China over the next three years, as well as invitations for 300 Serbian youth to study in China.
"I can promise you that the next five years are not going to be boring. And I'm pretty sure we will see one of the greatest shows again in the human history," Filipovic said.
In his view, China's efforts in talent cultivation contribute to building a community with a shared future for mankind, which is a positive indicator of global development. He believes that in the future, students from around the world will come to China, and more Chinese students will venture abroad.
