Apple duty-free store opens at Pudong airport
China's first airport duty-free Apple store, operated by an Apple Premium Reseller, opened on Sept 3 near Gate D75 in the international, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan departure area of Terminal 2 at Shanghai Pudong International Airport.
Unlike traditional airport electronics counters, the new store features a minimalist, open display space showcasing Apple's full range of hardware products. Travelers can explore and try Apple's latest devices while waiting for their flights, and consult staff for personalized advice before buying.
The store is the first physical outlet in Apple's duty-free retail channel for departing travelers, with new Apple products available in stock. Customers can purchase and collect the latest devices before boarding, with duty-free pricing available at the store.
To celebrate the opening, Pudong airport and China Duty Free Group have launched a lucky draw for customers. From Sept 3 to 30, anyone who makes a purchase at the store can enter. On Oct 1, one lucky customer will be selected to receive a mystery gift package valued at 10,000 yuan ($1,490.58).
