Shanghai Customs certifies 570 authorized economic operators

Shanghai Customs has granted authorized economic operator status to 570 companies by the end of January.
Foreign-funded AEO companies contributed nearly a quarter of the city's total import and export value and nearly 70 percent of the total AEO import and export value.
AEO is a collective term by the World Customs Organization for high credit-rated enterprises. The AEO system helps businesses gain trust from partners more easily and aims to facilitate the growing international business and enhance the global trade supply chain.
Companies with AEO status can enjoy streamlined customs procedures such as reduced inspections and prioritized clearance and privileges like designated enterprise coordinators.
The AEO zone of the China (Shanghai) International Trade Single Window was launched on Feb 6. The AEO zone offers AEO service guides, AEO list queries, online consultation services, reminder pop-ups, laboratory testing queries, and AEO cargo identification, creating an online service platform for enterprises.
This year, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce will continue implementing several measures to further support the high-quality development of AEO enterprises in Shanghai. The AEO system pilot plan in the industrial sector in Shanghai was issued in January.
