Gourmet walk delights foodies in Jing'an district

The Jing'an district of East China's Shanghai has launched a series of city walks to showcase its treasured shops. One of them is a route that features diverse and delicious gourmet options.

The route starts from No 772 West Nanjing Road and visits five very special gourmet shops along the way – some of which are the first stores of their kind in Shanghai or even in China.

1. Starting point: Joy Maison

The starting point of the city walk is Joy Maison, the first Japanese-style whisky retail store created by Joymax, a leading tobacco and alcohol retailer in China and Suntory, the largest Japanese whisky brand.

The store is not a traditional tobacco and alcohol retail store, but a specialty store that integrates tobacco and alcohol, light meals and leisure, brand promotions and more, giving customers a new and immersive experience.

2. Walk 855 meters to Kuddo Coffee

The next stop of the city walk is Kuddo Coffee, a new and cutting-edge boutique coffee brand from Shenzhen, which opened its first store in Shanghai on Weihai Road last year.

Kuddo Coffee is famous for its original product Tofu Pudding Latte, which has frequently become popular on social networks and become a regular on various lists. The store is positioned as a community store, focusing on Italian-style boutique coffee and is also a pet-friendly store.

3. Walk 520 meters to Lumieres JeJe

The third stop of the city walk is Lumieres JeJe, a Michelin star-level art restaurant located on the third floor of Plaza 66, a high-end shopping mall on West Nanjing Road.

This is the first store in Shanghai of Lumieres JeJe, a brand created by French chef Jerome Tauvron, who traveled across Eurasia and brought his skills to Shanghai. The restaurant is not just a place to eat, but more like an immersive work of art. Customers can enjoy the chef's artistic cuisine and feel the ever-changing world in the restaurant.

4. Walk 675 meters to Paper Stone Bakery

The fourth stop of the city walk is Paper Stone Bakery, a high-end European baking brand that opened its third store in Shanghai at the Jing An Kerry Centre, a landmark complex on West Nanjing Road.

Paper Stone Bakery ranked first on the Jing'an Temple Area Bread and Dessert Hot List within a week of opening. The store has a full range of bread types, with a total of more than 70 kinds of bread – including classic croissants, the first stone oven bread range and Jing An Kerry Centre store's limited kale series of new products.

5. Walk 549 meters to Roastelier

The final stop of the city walk is Roastelier, a high-quality instant fresh-roasted coffee shop on Yuyuan Road. This is the first store in China of Roastelier, a high-end coffee brand under Swiss food giant Nestle.

The store features a new Roastelier self-roasting solution, where every coffee bean is instantly fresh-roasted. Customers can not only learn about the high-tech of instant fresh-roasted coffee, and experience the hand-brewed and milk coffee made with a Roastelier roaster on the spot, but also enjoy the fun of freely matching coffee.
