Yuyuan Garden unveils new tour experience
Yuyuan Garden has launched an exciting night tour project, along with an upgraded attraction that promises to delight visitors.
In July, Shanghai's iconic Huxin Pavilion in Yuyuan Garden reopened to the public after nearly two years of protective restoration. Known as the "first teahouse in Shanghai", this historic structure has stood for over 240 years, offering a glimpse into the city's rich cultural heritage.
The restoration project, spearheaded by the Architectural Heritage Inheritance Center of the Shanghai Arts and Design Academy, involved meticulous work such as comparing historical photographs and measuring existing remnants to restore the pavilion to its former glory.
The first floor of the pavilion features a tea hall, a seating area, and a bar, with displays of stele inscriptions and historical artifacts offering insight into its storied past. Upstairs, guests can enjoy a more intimate setting, complete with a storytelling area, a tea ceremony section, VIP rooms, and a tea ware exhibition space. The furnishings blend classical and modern styles, reflecting the essence of Oriental garden and tea culture.
Beyond the pavilion, the Yuyuan new night tour project, titled "Yu Xiang Shan Lin" or "Enjoyment of Mountains and Forests", is set to launch on Aug 8. This event promises to enchant visitors with five shows that use light and shadow to create poetic scenes throughout the garden. Additionally, visitors can enjoy interactive experiences and explore new cultural products inspired by signature elements of the garden.
