SHUTCM calls for 2026 TCM Summer Camp volunteers
The Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SHUTCM) has launched the enrollment of student volunteers for the 2026 TCM Summer Camp.
Event introduction
The 2026 summer camp will run from June through August and consists of the Shanghai Summer School (3S) TCM Program, the 3S Advanced TCM Research Program, and other short-term training initiatives.
These programs have consistently attracted international students from countries including the United States, Brazil, Germany, Canada, the Czech Republic, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Sweden, Poland, Singapore, and Malta.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to help international students immerse themselves in Chinese culture and promote cross-cultural exchange. They will also participate in lectures, experiential activities, and site visits, exploring the charm of TCM, deepening their understanding of traditional Chinese heritage, and learning more about Shanghai.
Time:
- The Shanghai Summer School TCM Program: from June 8 to July 3, 2026.
- The Shanghai Summer School Advanced TCM Research Program: from Aug 3 to 21, 2026.
Venue:
SHUTCM's Zhangjiang Campus, Pudong New Area
Eligibility:
1. Current students and young faculty members of SHUTCM, regardless of nationality or gender, who possess strong English proficiency or other language communication skills.
2. Applicants must be passionate about traditional Chinese culture and willing to serve as ambassadors.
3. Applicants should possess good oral English skills, cross-cultural communication abilities, and a strong team spirit. Outstanding volunteers may have opportunities to participate in additional exchange activities.

Note:
- Volunteer duties are varied, including pre-program preparation, assisting with opening and closing ceremonies, photography and videography, and classroom interpretation.
- Volunteer shifts will be scheduled on a rotating basis. Current students are reminded to prioritize their academic work and clinical internships.
- A few team leaders with strong organizational, coordination, leadership, and oral English skills are also needed.
