Change, Extension and Reissuance
1. Change of residence permit information
Who can apply
Residence permit holders whose registration information (name, reason for residence, or passport or other international travel document number) or accompanying person(s) information changes; or whose address, university or employer changes must change their information with the issuing authorities within 10 days from the date of such change.
How to apply
1) Original passport and residence permit.
2) A completed Visa and Residence Permit Application Form with a photo.
3) Supporting documents for changing residence registration.
4) Submit relevant documents specified in the service notice consistent with the reason for application.

2. Reissuance of residence permit
Who can apply
Foreigners whose residence permits have been lost, damaged or stolen since their entry into China.
How to apply
1) Applicant’s original valid passport.
2) A completed Visa and Residence Permit Application Form for Foreigners with a photo.
3) Supporting documents consistent with the reason for application.
4) Submit required documents based on the purpose of your stay or residence, as specified in the relevant service notice.

3. Extension for resident permit

Exit-Entry Administration of the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau (PSB):
Monday to Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm (except for statutory holidays; Saturdays for document acceptance only)

Within 7 business days for applications with complete documents required.
