Stellar Splendor & Urban Pulse, the first themed exhibition ever organized by the Shanghai International Film & TV Festival, opened at Shanghai Film Art Center on May 20.
The exhibition is presented in four acts, each offering a unique perspective: from the pioneers who shaped the festival, to industry insiders, devoted fans, and behind-the-scenes teams. Together, the acts trace the festival's history across the decades.
Highlights:
- More than 500 items are being displayed together for the first time, including historical documents, original manuscripts, film stills, and rare memorabilia from filmmakers and moviegoers.
- Several well-known artists have contributed to the exhibition, including Yan Youren, Yang Fudong, Lu Yineng, and Zhao Bozuo. Their work helps create an immersive, interactive experience that visitors can see, touch, and feel.
- The exhibition features a range of hands-on activities. Visitors can walk on a replica of the Shanghai International Film Festival red carpet, step into a film screening space, join post-screening discussions, and collect commemorative ticket stubs.
- The exhibition's storytelling emphasizes small details that bring history to life, creating an engaging and accessible experience.
