Pudong airport cargo terminal gains full IATA CEIV certification
Shanghai Pudong International Airport Cargo Terminal Co Ltd (PACTL) has become the first cargo terminal in the Chinese mainland to obtain International Air Transport Association (IATA) CEIV certification across all major air cargo categories, marking a new milestone in Shanghai's development as a comprehensive international aviation hub.
Operated by Shanghai Airport Logistics Company, PACTL recently received IATA's CEIV live animals certification, completing its portfolio, which also includes CEIV certifications for pharmaceuticals, lithium batteries, and fresh and perishable cargo.
The CEIV program is a globally recognized certification system established by IATA to enhance safety, quality, and compliance in specialized air cargo transport through independent validation and unified international standards.
CEIV pharmaceutical certification requires precise temperature control and full-process traceability, while CEIV lithium battery certification focuses on standardized classification, packaging, labeling, and emergency management throughout transport operations.
CEIV fresh and perishable cargo certification emphasizes efficient sorting, storage, and end-to-end temperature and humidity control, while CEIV live animals certification sets detailed requirements for transport environments, loading methods, and contingency handling.
Together, these four certifications cover the core categories of high-value air cargo and require an integrated management system spanning multiple scenarios, disciplines, and operational standards.
By securing full CEIV certification, PACTL demonstrates internationally aligned capabilities in infrastructure, staff training, operating procedures, and emergency response, strengthening services to meet the diverse domestic and global logistics needs of its clients worldwide.
