Life Chronicles, an immersive expedition about the history of life on the Earth, is open at HKRI Taikoo Hui in downtown Shanghai from April 26 to Oct 7.
Jointly created by the French company Excurio, a developer of virtual and augmented reality solutions and the Museum national d'Histoire naturelle (MNHN) in Paris, the project has been introduced to China by The Metaverse Project.
Life Chronicles was launched at the museum in Paris in October 2023, and the opening in Shanghai marked "the world premiere for Life Chronicles outside of France," according to Fabien Barati, CEO and co-founder of Excurio.

This immersive expedition, offers a vertiginous dive into the history of Earth and living organisms, tracing over 3.5 billion years of evolution through virtual reality. Accessible for ages 8 and up, this original offering, halfway between education and entertainment, is designed to turn audiences from mere spectators into physically and emotionally engaged players.
Audiences will come across many animal and plant species, each of which has been reviewed and validated by the 30 scientists of the MNHN who took part in the creation of the project, Barati said. "It is a precise scientific rendition of our current knowledge in evolution."
