Shanghai's Putuo district held a conference on Nov 22 centered on innovation within the intelligent digital health industry along the Shanghai-Nanjing Industrial Innovation Belt. The event focused on the high-quality development of the sector and the deepening of collaborative innovation along the belt, which involves Putuo and eight cities in East China's Jiangsu province.
Zhao Yong, deputy secretary of the CPC Putuo district committee, emphasized the district's efforts to cultivate an industry cluster worth hundreds of billions of yuan centered on the cutting-edge areas like medical devices and intelligent digital health.
Zhao highlighted the district's commitment to integrating industry, innovation and capital chains to promote collaborative development with enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region.
Putuo launched the intelligent digital health industry partnership program, highlighting initiatives in infrastructure co-construction, resource sharing, and policy support aimed at boosting enterprise development.
During the event, Putuo district's life and health industry alliance welcomed 10 new members. The number of life and health enterprises in Putuo has grown to over 3,500, covering four major fields and 10 sectors, including biopharmaceuticals, high-end medical devices, intelligent digital health services, and medical data applications.
Key projects and intellectual support were highlighted during the event. The conference featured the unveiling of the Saya medical innovation incubator and the signing of a joint laboratory agreement aimed at bridging the gap between research, clinical trials, and industrial application.
Furthermore, a group of experts joined the district's intelligent digital health strategic advisory committee. These experts, hailing from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, top universities, and leading enterprises, will provide professional guidance for regional industrial planning.
The Putuo district commission of commerce vowed to continue fostering "digital intelligence + health" innovation, enhancing policy, talent and resource support to build a globally influential smart health industry cluster, contributing to Shanghai's vision as a world-class biopharmaceutical hub.
