District strengthens ties with foreign enterprises at New Year exchange event

Qingpu district hosted a New Year exchange event for its foreign-invested enterprises on Jan 20. It was aimed to enhance government-business cooperation and create a stable and favorable business environment.
The initiative was also intended to support the healthy development of Qingpu's outward-bound economy.
Officials expressed sincere gratitude to foreign companies presenting the meeting, while highlighting the district's status as a permanent venue for the China International Import Expo, a core area of the Hongqiao International Opening Hub and a demonstration zone for the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
Embracing openness is seen as a "necessary choice" for Qingpu's modernization, with foreign enterprises being a "key force" in its high-quality development.
Looking ahead, Qingpu plans to leverage both international and domestic markets and resources, empowering more foreign enterprises to thrive.
Qingpu is committed to creating broad strategic platforms, amplifying the spillover effects of the CIIE, and expanding its influence across the Yangtze River Delta.
Efforts will be made to foster innovation in industries such as integrated circuits, biomedicine, and digital manufacturing, ensuring comprehensive support in land, talent, and finance.
During the event, the Qingpu District Commission of Commerce reported on the achievements of foreign investment in the previous year.
Awards were presented to the top 100 foreign-invested enterprises for their contributions in revenue, import and export, tax contributions and job creation.
Representatives from companies like Pratt & Whitney Engine Services and NMB-Minebea shared their experiences.
From January to November 2024, foreign enterprises in Qingpu saw an eight percent increase in tax contributions.
Over the past year, four multinational company headquarters and eight research and development centers were added, creating a record high.
Thirty-eight foreign enterprises and one foreign enterprise subsidiary were included in the list of the district's top 100 well-performing companies.
Currently, the district is home to 5,000 foreign enterprises.
