Shanghai University of International Business and Economics
Founded in 1960, Shanghai University of International Business and Economics (SUIBE) is hailed as a "cradle for foreign trade professionals in China".
The university has three campuses in Shanghai's Songjiang, Changning and Minhang districts, respectively. It has more than 14,000 students, including nearly 1,0000 full-time undergraduates and over 4,000 postgraduate students.
SUIBE has more than 1,500 faculty and staff members, including nearly 900 full-time faculty members and neraly 500 faculty members with senior professional titles.
The university has established a discipline layout led by applied economics and characterised by an open economic discipline group and the coordinated development of economics, management, liberal arts, law, science, engineering and education.

SUIBE has also opened China's first trade negotiation school. It has made outstanding intellectual contributions to the negotiations under the WTO framework, APEC negotiations and RCEP negotiations.
In addition, it has been expanding its foreign exchange and cooperation network. It is eligible to admit international students awarded the Chinese government scholarship and the Shanghai municipal government scholarship. It has established cooperation and exchange agreements with more than 100 overseas universities in 35 countries and regions and international organisations to jointly carry out talent training, scientific research and social services.
It also runs Confucius Institutes in some countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. The Confucius Institute built in cooperation with the University of Ljubljana won the title of "Global Advanced Confucius Institute".
SUIBE works closely with the WTO, APEC, UNCTAD, UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, Centre for International Trade and Sustainable Development (Geneva), and other international organisations. It was certified as a WTO Asia-Pacific Training Centre in 2019 and became the only regional training partner in the Chinese mainland among the seven training partners of the WTO. It was also named China's Centre of Excellence for WTO Affairs, providing support and services for China's participation in global economic governance.
