German-language musical Elisabeth staged in Shanghai

Elisabeth, the most successful German-language musical of all time, has returned to Shanghai after a decade of absence in the form of a staged concert, featuring more than 20 top-class actors and actresses and a live orchestra. Since its debut in 1992, the show has attracted over 12 million viewers worldwide, with over 9,000 performances in 10 different languages in 14 countries. Elisabeth will be staged 21 times, including five shows with a special guest, through Sept 15 at the Shanghai Culture Square.
