How to get a 'five-star card'

The new version of China's Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card, commonly known as the "five-star card", allows holders to enter and exit China without a visa.
In China, the card can be used in place of a passport for certain official purposes, such as hotel check-ins, railway ticket purchases, and other administrative procedures.
