Having lived in Shanghai for about 15 years, Tokyo-born Takise Momoe has developed a unique bond with the city. She has captured over 100 shops in the streets and alleys of Shanghai through her watercolor paintings.
Now as a student at Shanghai University of Engineering Science, Takise spends her time exploring the streets, visiting local shops, and sketching everyday scenes of the city.
Her inspiration comes from simple pleasures—delicious food, beautiful storefronts, or just the surrounding atmosphere. Takise captures these fleeting moments in her art, preserving what she calls the feeling of "love at first sight".
Takise describes her strolls through Shanghai with a sense of whimsy: "With every step, it feels like a pink heart pops up under my feet."
