The Yuyuan Road Historical and Cultural Block in Shanghai is a well-known neighborhood known for its upscale residential buildings and public structures, especially schools.
This location is one of the 12 historic zones in the city's downtown area and one of the four key Haipai (unique Shanghai-style) living areas.

Situated in the Jing'an and Changning districts, the protected zone covers approximately 223 hectares and encompasses North Wulumuqi Road, West Nanjing Road, Yongyuan Road, Zhenning Road, and Wanhangdu Road.
This historical area is home to numerous significant structures. The streets feature a variety of buildings, alleyways, and landscapes that have maintained their historical charm through the ages.
The architectural era of this block spans from 1919 to 1941, and it features well-designed garden houses and alleys. The block comprises of two cultural relics protection units, three registered cultural structures, and historical roads such as Yuyuan Road (North Wulumuqi Road - Zhenning Road) in the western part of Jing'an district.
The focal point of this block is Yuyuan Road, which dates back to 1911, during the reign of Emperor Xuantong, who was the last ruler of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). It was later developed into a hub of European-style architecture.

The Yuyuan art and lifestyle block is home to more than 110 fashionable shops and art venues that showcase the hottest trends. Visitors can find everything from creative products and home decorations to luxury pop-up shops and galleries.
In addition to shopping and exploring, the block also hosts a variety of cultural events, exhibitions, live shows and festivals.
Yuyuan Road is steeped in history, with 108 ancient houses in various architectural styles and 60 cultural heritage sites. Notable figures such as Fu Lei, a famous writer and educator, and Chinese scientist Qian Xuesen, have left their mark on the area, adding to its allure.
The block also offers complete tourism facilities, including cafes, bookstores, shopping malls, leisure spots and entertainment venues.
