Jinshan district secures over $1.59b in investment deals
A total of 26 projects with a combined investment exceeding 11 billion yuan ($1.59 billion) were signed at the 2026 Jinshan District Investment Promotion Conference on Feb 26.
Nearly 3 billion yuan of the total investment is dedicated to advancing high-end chemical engineering and new materials. Key projects include the second phase of the Phelix circular-based new materials facility, which aims to enhance the industrial chain and drive green transformation. Supporting projects such as the development of high-temperature nylon and PEEK by Orinko, and aerospace titanium alloy castings by Sanhang Kaiti, are contributing to the formation of a comprehensive high-end chemical new materials industry chain.
In a strategic move, the Beijing Graphene Institute, in collaboration with Beijing Longpu Technology, plans to establish the Shanghai (Yangtze River Delta) Graphene International Exchange Engineering Application Center in Jinshan. This center will focus on cutting-edge fields like graphene robotics and advanced heat dissipation alloys, complementing the district's existing new materials sector.
Nine projects are injecting over 2 billion yuan into the intelligent mobility and equipment industry. With the entry of major industry leaders like Lexus, Jinshan will simultaneously develop core technologies including solid-state batteries and silicon carbide electric drive systems.
Demonstrating its commitment to "investing in the future", Jinshan is channeling nearly 5 billion yuan into three emerging industries: bio-manufacturing, electronic information, and green energy. A key breakthrough is anticipated in the electronic information sector with a project proposed by Suzhi Future to build a thin-film flip-chip driver IC packaging facility, led by a core technical team with decades of experience.
Outside the main venue, an exhibition of products from key settled enterprises was held at the same time. Two of JDL's sixth-generation unmanned delivery vehicles, each with a one-ton capacity and a daily range of 160 kilometers, were on display, their "mechanical eyes" operating with precision. Shanghai Shuozheng plans to construct a JDL unmanned vehicle production base, which will enable the localized production of core components like linear brakes and steering motors upon completion.
During the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30), Jinshan aims to foster one world-class advanced manufacturing cluster with an output value exceeding 200 billion yuan, one domestically leading industrial cluster surpassing 100 billion yuan, and several emerging clusters worth tens of billions of yuan. Guided by intelligence, green development, and integration, the district is focused on cultivating new quality productive forces and building a modern industrial system.
