Airline expands in-flight Wifi service
China Eastern Airlines has expanded free in-flight Wifi service to all economy class passengers on its domestic Shuttle Service routes operated by wide-body aircraft.
The airlines' Shuttle Service, launched in 2001 on the Beijing–Shanghai route, has expanded to 41 routes with high punctuality and dedicated service, operating at hourly intervals during peak hours.
Effective Oct 11, the upgrade allows every traveler, regardless of ticket type, to stay connected throughout their journey.
Previously available only in premium cabins and select economy seats, the expansion makes China Eastern the first Chinese carrier to offer comprehensive free Wifi across all cabin classes on key business routes.
Passengers can now use the internet seamlessly for work, communication, or entertainment from takeoff to landing.
While the standard service covers general browsing and messaging, passengers can choose paid premium packages for higher-speed streaming or large file transfers.
