Chinese New Year flowers are a small yet meaningful ritual in many Shanghai households. From pots of orchids to silver willow branches and early spring blooms, these temporary flower markets offer a seasonal way to welcome the new year. Below is a guide to some of the city's major Chinese New Year flower markets opening ahead of the holiday.

Sinan Mansions · Fuxing Park Chinese New Year flower market

This dual-venue flower market can be found in the very heart of Shanghai. The Fuxing Park location focuses on affordable Chinese New Year flowers, a Spring Festival goods market, and seasonal tulip picking. The Sinan Mansions venue places greater emphasis on floral design and cultural programming, with installations and activities woven into the historic streetscape.
