Chinese New Year highlights in Jing'an: Fashion, art, and fragrance
With Chinese New Year approaching, Jing'an district is unveiling a series of seasonal highlights spanning fashion, art, and lifestyle. From limited-edition footwear to immersive installations and niche fragrances, this guide highlights several places worth adding to your holiday itinerary.
Zhangyuan: Limited-edition Chinese New Year footwear
Birkenstock has launched its 2026 Chinese New Year collection at Zhangyuan, featuring three of the brand's signature silhouettes: Boston, Arizona, and Florida. Inspired by the Year of the Horse, the collection blends Birkenstock's craftsmanship with subtle Chinese cultural references. The designs feature sand-colored suede uppers, textured black straps, and cloud motifs symbolizing harmony and good fortune. The Boston and Arizona styles also incorporate semi-matte leather with gold cloud detailing, while bold red accents reference traditional symbols of prosperity.
Jing An Kerry Centre: Loewe's lantern installation
At Jing An Kerry Centre, Loewe has partnered with Shanghai Animation Film Studio to present a lantern installation on view through March 4. The centerpiece depicts a miniature horse leaping from the pages of a book, surrounded by lanterns featuring animated animals such as deer and platypuses. Rooted in traditional Chinese visual language, the installation is especially striking after dark when fully illuminated. Inside the store, the seasonal collection includes horse-themed charms, platypus-shaped handbags, and Puzzle bags finished with horsehair tassels, offering festive gift options for the holiday season.
Julu Road: Revanna brings fragrance craft to the city
Revanna, a fragrance brand from Saudi Arabia, has opened its first boutique in China at No 814 Julu Road. The space showcases the brand's signature long-aging process, which allows scents to develop greater depth and complexity over time. Highlights include the Shadow & Light fragrance series, inspired by the transition from morning to evening; boutique-exclusive agarwood bracelets; and an open scent discovery area where visitors can explore the dialogue between Eastern and Middle Eastern scent traditions.
