The Shanghai Tonight series under the 2026 Shanghai Shopping Festival is now in full swing in Pudong New Area, featuring a wide range of themed cultural and retail experiences across the district.
A key highlight is a World Cup-themed Coca-Cola market at the Oriental Pearl Tower, running from June 12 to July 15. Several nearby shopping centers, including Super Brand Mall, L+Mall, and LU1885, are also participating with events such as beer festivals and tequila-themed experiences.
In the Qiantan area, Taikoo Li Qiantan is presenting a summer-long retro playground experience in partnership with Bright Food Group. It is also collaborating with Adidas on a World Cup-themed pop-up store and with Club Med on a Sun Playground vacation-inspired pop-up space.
At New Bund Red Lane, limited-edition ice desserts and specialty drinks will be available from July 11 to Aug 2. A craft beer festival featuring 35 breweries will take place on July 18 and 19.
From Sept 25 to 27, a coffee and dessert festival will bring together more than 40 specialty coffee brands, including businesses led by award-winning baristas. A dedicated matcha dessert zone will also be introduced.
Art and architecture enthusiasts can visit two major exhibitions at the Museum of Art Pudong. Giorgio Morandi: Solo is currently on display, while Jean Nouvel: Without the Artist, Architecture Disappears will open on June 27.
The Morandi exhibition is the world's largest showcase of the artist's work this century. The Jean Nouvel exhibition marks his first solo presentation in a venue he designed and the museum's first architecture-focused exhibition.
Several leisure attractions are also extending their nighttime offerings. The Shanghai Ocean Aquarium offers discounted evening tickets and an overnight "Sleep with Sharks" experience.
The observation deck of Shanghai Tower is extending its summer opening hours, with half-price group tickets available after 7 pm. Since June, the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum has extended its Saturday opening hours to 8 pm, with last entry at 7 pm.
Beyond central Pudong, Bicester Shanghai Village is hosting a Belt and Road-themed cultural market and an open-air lakeside cinema, accompanied by live band performances.
As part of Shanghai Disney Resort's 10th anniversary celebrations, Shanghai Disneyland will extend its operating hours until 10:30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays from July 3 to Aug 1, with nighttime themed parties and popular attractions available throughout the extended hours.
The third season of Global Taste in Shanghai, the Asian Flavor Season, will also launch in Pudong in July, featuring food, performances, markets, and themed experiences.
