The Mount Kailash art exhibition and experience center has made its global debut at HKRI Taikoo Hui in Jing'an district, presenting the sacred peak through contemporary art, installations, and immersive experiences.

Located in Ngari prefecture, Xizang autonomous region, at an altitude of 6,656 meters, Mount Kailash, also known as Mount Gang Rinpoche, has long been regarded as a sacred site by multiple ancient civilizations and attracts visitors from around the world to experience classic high-altitude trekking routes.

The exhibition marks the first time Mount Kailash has been presented through a comprehensive contemporary group art show in the core commercial district of a major city.

Using multimedia artistic expressions, it transforms the mountain's natural grandeur and cultural significance into an immersive experience for urban audiences.

Exhibition space

The exhibition is housed in a two-story building along Shimen Road Number One at HKRI Taikoo Hui. It occupies about 400 square meters and features an eight-meter-high ceiling.

Large-scale installations, rare artworks, and interactive experiences evoke the natural imagery and cultural atmosphere of the snow-covered plateau.

The first floor uses off-white, rock gray, and deep red tones as its main color scheme, incorporating elements such as mountains, rocks, and light to create a highland-inspired landscape.

Visitors can explore crystal exhibits, paintings, haute couture displays, and sculptures while moving through the space.

The second floor uses a darker, immersive design inspired by Mount Kailash's night sky, mountain forms, and sacred spring water. It also includes an oxygen chamber experience area, VR experiences, photography displays, furniture displays, and curated products.

The exhibition features contemporary artists working across different media to interpret Mount Kailash from various perspectives. During the exhibition, selected artworks will also be available for viewing and purchase, with details subject to on-site information.
