Spider-Man interactive pop-up opens in Xuhui
An immersive Spider-Man pop-up has opened at GATE M West Bund Dream Center in Shanghai's Xuhui district, inviting visitors to explore the 10-year cinematic journey of Tom Holland's Spider-Man through interactive exhibits and themed experiences.
The event features six themed zones combining recreated film settings, interactive challenges, photo opportunities, and exclusive merchandise.
Highlights include a comic book shop displaying more than 200 Spider-Man comics from different eras, as well as a life-size comic book photo prop. Visitors may also catch occasional talks by a comic expert about the character's history.
Other themed spaces recreate iconic settings from the films. A New York-style pizza shop offers exclusive Spider-Man apparel and accessories, while a streetscape inspired by the city features interactive installations where visitors can recreate scenes of Spider-Man moving between skyscrapers.
Peter Parker's room recreates the superhero's living space, complete with an upside-down photo zone that lets visitors pose from Spider-Man's perspective. Another highlight is the Spider-Man lab, where classic suit replicas, suit-making tools, and workstations illustrate how Peter Parker designs and makes his gear. A fitness training area highlights another part of his development as a superhero.
A pop-up store inspired by a New York corner grocery offers more than 200 licensed products, including apparel, collectibles, collectible toys, building sets, plush toys, and themed electronics.
Visitors can also join a stamp-collecting challenge by completing puzzles at five stations throughout the venue. Those who collect all the stamps can redeem an exclusive gift. Dedicated photo spots throughout the exhibition also offer plenty of opportunities for memorable pictures.
