The 2026 Trendy Sports Carnival opened on Oct 10 and will run through Nov 22, featuring six main events across Suhe MixC World, West Nanjing Road, Daning Park, and other commercial areas and urban spaces in the city.

The festival kicked off with a weekend of sports and activities for pets and their owners at Suhe MixC World on Oct 10 and 11. Activities included a pet-themed market, a pet-and-owner orienteering competition, an animal welfare exhibition, and an outdoor movie screening.

3x3 basketball competitions

When: Oct 17 to 23, with university finals scheduled for Oct 28 and 29

Where: Jiuguang Department Store

The Jing'an 3x3 Basketball Championship will take place on Oct 17 and 18, with men's and women's divisions open to participants from across Shanghai. The champions will be determined at the department store's south plaza.

The Shanghai Basketball Champions League 3x3 Finals will follow at the same venue from Oct 20 to 23.

The university division finals of the 18th Shanghai Games' 3x3 basketball competition are planned for Oct 28 and 29. The matches will determine the rankings and medalists in each category.

Fitness challenge

Where: Jing'an Sports Center

The event will feature high-intensity competitions emphasizing strength, endurance, cardiovascular fitness, and functional training.

Asian University 3x3 Basketball Tour: Shanghai opener

When: Oct 30 to Nov 1

Where: Roman Plaza, Daning Park

The event is included in FIBA's global points system. The Shanghai event will feature 28 university teams from 12 Asian countries and regions.

Asian emerging sports brands expo week

When: Nov 14 to 15

Where: Yongyuan Road

The two-day expo will showcase emerging sports, equipment, services, and brands, with a focus on product design and industry exchange. It aims to connect up-and-coming Asian and international brands with China's sports market.

HHI World Hip Hop Dance Championship China Finals

When: Nov 20 to 22

Where: Jing'an Sports Center

The China Finals of the HHI World Hip Hop Dance Championship will bring together dance crews and individual dancers from across the country.

Competitions will include crew choreography and solo battles in major street dance styles, including breaking, popping, and locking. Top performers in each category will advance to the world finals.
