To ensure road traffic safety on the New Year's Eve, the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Public Security will implement temporary traffic control measures on selected roads from Dec 31, 2025, to Jan 1, 2026.
From 8 pm on Dec 31, 2025, to 1 am on Jan 1, 2026, all vehicles will be prohibited from entering the area enclosed by the following roads, while the bordering roads themselves remain open.
The controlled area begins at the intersection of Waibaidu Bridge and Beisuzhou Road, continues along Beisuzhou Road, North Xizang Road, Middle Xizang Road, West Beijing Road, North Chengdu Road, East Yan'an Road, South Xizang Road, East Fuxing Road, and Waimalu Road, and ends at the Huangpu River.
The south exit ramp at Jiangxi Road on the Yan'an Elevated Road will be temporarily closed, with an exemption made for vehicles accessing the Bund Tunnel via this ramp.
During the traffic control period, vehicles performing official duties, such as police cars, fire trucks, ambulances, and engineering emergency vehicles, will be permitted to enter the controlled zone.
The traffic management authorities may adjust the timing and scope of the controls based on actual road conditions.
