For those who have a sweet tooth, the Happy Rice Cake event is a must-go-to activity. The event will make and sell flower-shaped cakes and steamed buns at the south square of Global Harbor, a shopping mall in Shanghai's Putuo district, on Feb 8.

The rice cake, or niangao, means "year high" in Chinese and symbolizes a better life every year. The event also conveys the meanings of happiness, joy, renewal, blessings, and celebration for the Chinese New Year, the most important occasion for family reunions in China.

The event will create a festive atmosphere for visitors where they can watch the process of making rice cakes and buns and taste the freshly baked delicacies.
