The Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce is currently hosting the 2024 Shanghai Neighborhood Life Festival at Hong Shou Fang – an historic building dating back to 1933 – in the Putuo district of the city in East China.

As one of the 15 flagship events of this year's Shanghai Shopping Festival, the Neighborhood Life Festival is featuring 68 themed activities both on-site and online.

The activities focus on affordable living, convenient services, family health and wellness, community events, as well as cultural and recreational activities.

The festival aims to enhance the 15-Minute Community Life Circle, that is designed to provide essential and quality services within a 15-minute walk for residents, fostering a vibrant urban lifestyle.

During the opening ceremony, the Changshou Road neighborhood, home to a 9-kilometer stretch along Suzhou Creek, unveiled a city walk route map.

It highlights historical sites, commercial resources, cultural landmarks, tourist spots and sports venues. The initiative is encouraging residents and visitors alike to explore the rich history and evolving beauty of the Changshou area.

To better serve the community, the festival has invited several neighborhood service providers to present their offerings.

Notable participants include the century-old Bright Food, popular local service platform Ele.me, the Zhenru-Gaoling Market and the Jiangnan Rice Making Bureau, the latter which makes flavored drinks popular with young people.

Throughout the ongoing festival, numerous markets, supermarkets, shopping centers and online platforms will host themed days such as Neighborhood Grocery Day, Supermarket Special Day and Home Cleaning Day – offering special deals and activities.
