Excitement is building in the run-up to the Shanghai Sports Consumption Festival — one of the key events of the 2025 Shanghai Shopping Festival — which will run from May to November.

Shanghai will build a resource database in May to support the integration of sports, culture, tourism and commerce. It'll focus on public-interest sports events and public sports venues managed by the Shanghai Administration of Sports.

It'll also hire financial institutions, businesses and intellectual property owners with strong ties to the sports sector. The overall aim is to connect resources more precisely — and to create richer, more innovative consumer experiences for folks.

May and June is the peak season for sports in Shanghai, with many exciting events scheduled:

- Longines Global Champions Tour Shanghai (May 2-4)

- Venue: Shanghai Juss International Equestrian Centre, Pudong New Area

The B1 and B2 floors will open to the public for the first time, featuring horse-themed entertainment zones.
