China's public holidays for 2025
Good news! China's public holidays will be extended by two days in 2025!
According to the new official holiday schedule, the Spring Festival holiday will be extended from the previous three days to four days, including the eve of the Chinese Lunar New Year on Jan 28, while the May Day holiday will be increased from one day to two days, with May 2 newly added.
After the adjustment, the Spring Festival holiday will span a total of eight days, starting from Chinese New Year's Eve, and the May Day holiday will be observed with a five-day break.
Here is the holiday calendar for 2025.
New Year's Day holiday: Jan 1
Spring Festival holiday: Jan 28 to Feb 4 (Make-up work days: Jan 26, Feb 8)
Tomb Sweeping Day holiday: April 4 to 6
May Day holiday: May 1 to 5 (Make-up work day: April 27)
Dragon Boat Festival holiday: May 31 to June 2
Mid-Autumn Festival & National Day holiday: Oct 1 to 8 (Make-up work days: Sept 28, Oct 11)
