Shanghai's summer nightlife season is in full swing.

As part of the 2026 Shanghai Tonight program, food festivals, cultural events, markets, performances, and interactive experiences are taking place across the city throughout the summer. Following its opening weekend from May 29 to 31, FEAST Dai Pai Dong will return to FOUND 158 from June 5 to 7 for its final weekend, offering street food, drinks, music, and nightlife activities.

A celebration of dapaidang culture

Now in its 11th edition, FEAST is Shanghai's first and largest homegrown food festival. This year's event is inspired by dapaidang, the open-air street dining culture that has long been a defining feature of urban nightlife across China.

Dapaidang is about more than food. It is about shared tables, sizzling woks, cold drinks, and conversations that continue long into the night. Casual, energetic, and welcoming, it remains one of the most recognizable expressions of city life after dark.

This year, FEAST brings that spirit to FOUND 158 through a collection of pop-up stalls, creative dining concepts, and social experiences.

Visitors can explore limited-edition menus created by popular local restaurants and guest chefs, while a street food showcase presents contemporary interpretations of classic night market favorites. At the FEAST drinks bar, guests can enjoy a curated selection of beer, wine, and cocktails, including a frozen lemon tea-inspired special created exclusively for this year's event.

The event also features activities beyond food. DJs and after-parties keep the atmosphere going late into the evening, while live broadcasts of the French Open, presented in partnership with Perrier, add another reason to stay late, from the third round through to the final.

Additional highlights include sommelier-led wine experiences, a lifestyle market featuring secondhand treasures from local creators, temporary art exhibitions, interactive games, and relaxation zones offering massage services.

From June 6 to 7, Shanghai Tonight will present Studio 66, an immersive exhibition exploring the future of nightlife, at Building 4 of Zhangyuan in Jing'an district.

Open from 4 pm to midnight, the venue will temporarily become a "nightlife laboratory", inviting visitors to take on the role of observers rather than simply viewing the exhibition.

Through a series of interactive environments focused on night shopping, dining, entertainment, reading, performances, sports, and sightseeing, participants will explore how new ideas, formats, and experiences are shaping Shanghai's 24-hour urban culture.

After completing the experience, each visitor will receive a personalized "Shanghai Night Report", a unique record of their journey through the exhibition.

Craft beer and intangible cultural heritage take the spotlight

From June 5 to 7, the Shanghai Craft Beer Festival will take place at Shenyu Lane in Suhewan MixC World, featuring 68 domestic and international craft breweries.

Admission is free. Visitors can purchase beer tokens on site and exchange them for drinks throughout the festival.

Whether visitors are looking for an easy introduction to craft beer or searching for bold and experimental flavors, the festival's three themed sections — Old Friends, New Forces, and Special Flavor — offer something for every taste.

Meanwhile, from June 5 to 14, Bailian Night will spotlight intangible cultural heritage along Guangfu Road in the Suhewan area.

More than 40 themed market stalls will showcase traditional craftsmanship alongside retail, tourism, art, and entertainment. Visitors can watch artisans at work, purchase handmade products, and explore wellness-focused experiences that blend tradition with contemporary lifestyles.

Bailian Night will also connect with emerging nighttime tourism routes along Suzhou Creek, creating new ways to experience the city after dark.
