Russian theater troupe crafts xiaolongbao in Shanghai
2024 and 2025 have been christened as the China-Russia Years of Culture, sparking a plethora of activities that are set to elevate bilateral cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
On June 21, in a food establishment on Nanxiang Old Street, located in Shanghai's Jiading district, 26 Russian actors from the State Academic Vakhtangov Theatre dove headfirst into the art of crafting xiaolongbao, a typical local steamed bun.

Meanwhile, these actors performed the Russian theatrical sensation Eugene Onegin in the city, illuminating the stage at the Shanghai Poly Grand Theatre from June 20 to 23.
Under the direction of Rimas Tuminas, the play unravels the romantic escapades of the charismatic Eugene Onegin and the captivating Tatyana Larina amid the idyllic countryside.
Over the four days, the performance showcased the epitome of Russian aesthetics to the Shanghai audience.
