Morning tea, a tradition similar to Cantonese dim sum or Western brunch, has found a new home in Shanghai's Nanxiang Steamed Bun Restaurant.

To entice more residents and tourists to explore the enchanting Yuyuan Garden during off-peak hours, the historic Nanxiang Steamed Bun Restaurant has reintroduced its morning tea service after a 20-year hiatus, a move that has stirred nostalgia and excitement among visitors.

For longtime patrons of Yuyuan Garden, the trifecta of savoring tea, relaxing to traditional Chinese melodies, and indulging in Nanxiang's signature dim sum dishes is like a dream. Recently, the restaurant has expanded its morning tea hours, now available from 7:30 am to 9:30 am on weekdays and from 7:30 am to 9:00 am on weekends. The menu now boasts nearly 50 delectable desserts, dishes, and tea options, including the beloved steamed buns.

As the summer season unfolds, an influx of foreign tourists has graced the bustling streets of Shanghai, with Yuyuan Garden emerging as a must-visit locale. You Yumin, general manager of Nanxiang Steamed Bun Restaurant, noted a surge in foreign visitors following the reintroduction of the morning tea service, underscoring the enduring appeal of this cultural and culinary gem.

In a bid to further invigorate patronage and elevate the visitor experience, Nanxiang Steamed Bun Restaurant has rolled out an enticing minimum discount of 15 percent on a wide array of delectable offerings, excluding alcoholic beverages, as part of the Shanghai Summer International Consumption Season.
