This month, 45 public rental apartments have been delivered in Chongming district, and are now available for application.

Located at Alley 79 on Haitian Road, the 45 apartments are comprised of 30 two-bedroom units and 15 three-bedroom ones. The flats range from 72 to 91 square meters in floor area, with monthly rent ranging from 1,500 yuan ($209) to 1,900 yuan.

Each flat is equipped with basic furniture and home appliances, with 36 parking spots available in the residential compound. The neighborhood features convenient transportation and is close to commercial centers such as Wanda Plaza and Qiaosong Road commercial area.

Who can apply

Individuals or employers with staff working in Chengqiao town may apply if they meet the following conditions:

1. Hold a Shanghai Residence Permit.

2. Have signed a labor or employment contract of one year or more with a local employer and are paying social insurance.

3. Own no house in the district or live in a house with a per capita area of less than 15 square meters (application should be made near the applicant's workplace).

4. Alternatively, applicants working in a designated area may apply for housing within that area if they meet the same housing conditions as above.

5. Have not previously benefited from other housing support policies in Shanghai.

Applicants must meet conditions 1, 2, and 5, along with either 3 or 4.

Candidates can apply online through platforms such as the Suishenban app or the Government Online-Offline Shanghai website or apply in person at the designated public rental housing service windows.
