Shanghai Paotaiwan Scenic Spot
Shanghai Paotaiwan Scenic Spot in Baoshan district includes the Wusong Paotaiwan National Wetland Park and the Estuary Science and Technology Museum of Yangtze River Shanghai.
Paotaiwan translates as "cannonball bay" due to its historical naval fortifications. The area, dating back to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), played a significant role in historical events such as the two Opium Wars (1840-42 and 1856-60).
The wetland park covers 53.46 hectares and features a 1974.13-meter shoreline, offering picturesque views of the Yangtze and Huangpu rivers.
