Donglin Temple presents a magnificent atmosphere where you can see the tallest bronze door, the tallest indoor statue "Thousand Hands" Avalokitesvara (Kwan-yin), the tallest cloisonné statue of Shan Cai Tong Zi, or Child God of Wealth, and the treasure of the temple, the Lingyu Kwan-yin.

Donglin Temple has been flourishing for over 700 years but it has been ruined and rebuilt repeatedly due to wars and fires. Before the last reconstruction, there was only one main hall left in the whole temple, but the incense still burned.

Restored in 2007, today's Donglin Temple has a unique architectural style; the main building of the temple was constructed according to a tall imitation rockery, forming a mountain and temple in one.
