Program modules

1. Chinese language course

The intensive Chinese language courses will significantly improve your communication skills needed to function efficiently and effectively in everyday settings. The four language skills - listening, speaking, reading, and writing - are taught in a friendly, positive Chinese-speaking environment, including the extensive use of textbooks and audio-visual materials.

Four skill levels are offered:

- Elementary

- Beginner

- Intermediate

- Advanced

* Each level of class requires a minimum of 10 students to commence.

2. Chinese culture & art workshop

Chinese culture workshops include Chinese tea, traditional Chinese attire (hanfu), paper-cutting, and a perfumed medicine pouch. You will have the opportunity to understand the history, techniques of traditional Chinese culture and art, and create your own arts and crafts.

3. Field trip & company visit

You are able to explore the traditional glamour of China through field trips to Wuzhen water town in Zhejiang province and Suzhou in Jiangsu province.

Experience an insightful company visit to gain insights into how a company operates as well as its history, market, and strategy.

4. Chinese corner

Engage in oral Chinese practice with SUFE students, where you can share stories and deepen mutual understanding through meaningful conversations.

5. HSK mock test

Participate in an HSK mock test at the beginning and the end of the program, which will help you understand how the HSK test is structured and formatted, and your progress during the summer program.

Fees

Application fee: 415 yuan ($57.28)/person

Tuition fee: 4,800 yuan/person (including Chinese courses, textbooks, Chinese culture workshop, field trips)

Accommodation: 180 yuan/person/day (Accommodation fee should be paid to hotel directly when checking in.)

Accommodation

Two people will share a comfortable twin room in a hotel a 15-minute walk from the International Cultural Exchange School (ICES) of SUFE, and a five-minute walk from Jiangwan town station, Metro Line 3.

Application & admission

1. Before applying

Eligibility:

> Non-Chinese citizen with a passport (valid beyond August 30, 2024),

> 18-60 years old, in good health, and completed high school.

2. When Applying

Applications will be accepted from March 20 to May 15.

3. After applying

1. Accept your offer for admission
