About ECUST
Located in Shanghai, East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) was founded in 1952. ECUST is one of the key national universities under the direct administration of China's Ministry of Education. The main campus is situated in downtown Xuhui district and can be reached by Metro Line 15, among other convenient modes of public transportation. ECUST started enrolling and cultivating international students in 1956.
ECUST Short-term Chinese Language Program
1. Program features
> Flexible learning: Placement test before class starts. Different levels, different classes, and different course content.
> Rich practical knowledge: Diverse curriculum elements include intensive reading and speaking classes, among other courses. The program has been created to improve the language ability of students in multiple dimensions.
> Cultural experience: In order to enable students to have a better understanding of Chinese society and culture, broaden horizons, and create a more fun learning environment, we offer different lectures about traditional Chinese culture, cultural experience activities and talks between Chinese and foreign students.
> Completion certificate: Official transcripts will be offered to all the students, and a completion certificate will be issued to students who successfully complete the course.

3. How to apply
3.1 Eligibility
Non-Chinese citizens must hold a regular passport
Aged between 18-60 and in good health
3.2 How to apply
Apply online on the East China University of Science and Technology website:
Step 1: Click Register, use your email to register and sign in
Step 2: Apply "now-Self-sponsored-Short-term Chinese"
Language Student, select "Summer/Winter Four-week Chinese Language Program"
Step 3: Fill in personal information, upload a scan of passport information page, a summary of study experience, and a resume
Step 4: Submit all materials
Step 5: Pay application fee and upload proof of payment (Only remittance or bank transfer needed)
3.3 Application deadline: June 28, 2024
4. How to pay
4.1 Program cost

4.2 Payment method
Payment of tuition shall be completed within five days after getting the e-admission letter.

5. Visa and accommodation
X2 visa documents will be provided for students outside China, and extension visa documents will be provided for students in China.
No on-campus accommodation is offered. Nearby hotels with a single or double room (independent toilet, air conditioner, washing machine, etc.) can be arranged. Cost about 120-200 yuan per day for one person.
