Highlights of 2024 SUFE Chinese Language and Culture Summer Program
The International Cultural Exchange School at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics hosted the 2024 Chinese Language and Culture Summer Program from July 1 to 21.
Speaking Chinese
Chinese student volunteers and international participants discussed topics such as Chinese cuisine and renowned landmarks. These conversations enhanced the participants' spoken Chinese, deepened their understanding of Chinese culture, and fostered friendships.

Visiting company
Students visited Canature Health Technology Group Co, where they gleaned firsthand insights into China's environmental ethos and sustainable development strategies through sessions on wastewater treatment facilities and production processes.
Experiencing culture
During a Chinese painting activity, international students created artworks centered on lotus flowers.

In the cloisonné painting session, a Russian participant integrated peaches (symbolizing longevity) and bats (homophones for "blessings") into her artwork.
Exploring cities
Venturing into the ancient town of Wuzhen, Zhejiang province, participants visited the Jiangnan Hundred Beds Museum, along with workshops for batik, distilling, and linen-making.
Their exploration continued in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, where they wandered through classical gardens, sampled savoring local delicacies along Pingjiang Road, and unraveled the secrets of traditional crafts like Suzhou embroidery and fan painting.

Graduation ceremony
On July 19, the participants received graduation certificates and shared their reflections on the program in Chinese.
