[Course information]

Course name: 2024 Traditional Chinese Medicine Workshop for Medical Professionals from B&R Countries

Course type: Short-term program

Language of instruction: English or Chinese with English translation

Teaching methods: On-site specialized lectures, clinical visits to hospitals, cultural site visits, practice of traditional exercises, etc. Courses will be conducted on-site at the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine or the SHUTCM campus.

Course duration: Oct 21, 2024 (Monday) to Nov 8, 2024 (Friday)

[Course introduction]

This program will invite high-level talents in the field of medicine and health from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative to visit China, specifically Shanghai. Participants will gain insights into the culture and thinking of Traditional Chinese Medicine or TCM) – bridging the gap between classical and contemporary aspects and understanding the current development and policies related to it. Through academic exchanges with domestic TCM clinical experts and leading figures, the program aims to enhance humanistic exchanges and promote integration.

[Eligibility]

Officials from health departments, heads and scholars from medical faculties of universities, department heads from hospitals, leaders of pharmaceutical companies and medical professionals.

[Course content]

Main content: Introduction to the development of TCM in China, lectures by renowned TCM experts, field visits, experience of acupuncture and various specialized techniques and cultural experiences.

[Quota and scholarship]

1.

20 participants of TCM Workshop B&R Scholarship: Tuition, accommodation and activity fees covered.

2.

20 participants with SHUTCM Scholarship: 10,000 yuan ($1,395) per person, including food, accommodation (single rooms) and activity fees.

3.

20 TCM Workshop B&R Self-support: 20,000 yuan per person (including tuition, accommodation (single rooms) and activity fees.
