Intl students explore Chinese culture at Donghua University
Students from around the globe gathered at Donghua University this summer to study Chinese and immerse themselves in Chinese culture. Here are some of the highlights from their five-week journey.
Marketplace simulation
Students vividly experienced Chinese market culture through role-playing transactions in a marketplace simulation. They practiced spoken Chinese and honed their communication skills in authentic scenarios, gaining experience.
City exploration
Students engaged in practical language exercises throughout Shanghai's streets and alleys. By visiting landmarks, riding the metro, shopping, and interacting with locals, they enhanced their conversational skills and soaked in the city's unique charm and cultural allure.
Games
Students eagerly participated in games, communicating in Chinese. Each completed task earned them small prizes, instilling a sense of accomplishment.
Cultural experiences
Through activities such as lacquered fan-making, paper-cutting, calligraphy, and traditional Chinese cuisine, students connected more deeply with China and its culture.
