2025 Belt and Road Art Talent Training Program in Shanghai
To promote cultural exchanges with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative and strengthen talent cultivation, the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Shanghai Theatre Academy will jointly host the 2025 Belt and Road Art Talent Training Program.

1. Program theme
The program has been hosted six times since 2018. This year's program will provide students from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative with a multifaceted understanding of Chinese arts and culture through the study of traditional Chinese ethnic music and theater.
The Shanghai Conservatory of Music will focus on the most representative traditional Chinese ethnic instruments as well as those from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. The Shanghai Theatre Academy will explore the aesthetics of Chinese opera, its unique traditions, and the artistic interconnectedness between the countries.

2. Program duration: June 12 to July 4, 2025.
3. Program content
The program includes a series of specialized lectures, workshops, discussions, and cultural experience activities. Professors from the two institutions will conduct workshops and lectures, showcasing Chinese ethnic music performance techniques, creative concepts, and Chinese opera art. Discussions and presentations will highlight what participants have learned. The program will also organize visits to significant cultural venues in Shanghai, such as the Shanghai Opera House and He Luting Concert Hall.
4. Enrollment quota
The program will receive 18 scholarship students. These students will be exempt from registration, tuition, accommodation, activity, and comprehensive insurance fees. Scholarships are available to foreign students who are studying overseas and aged 16 to 40. The organizing committee will select recipients from among the applications received, and the results will be announced at https://www.shcmusic.edu.cn/1659/list.htm.

- Proof of enrollment or graduation certificate

- Performance material (if available): one piece, no more than 500 megabytes
Notes:
After the school reviews and confirms the application materials, applicants will receive an admission notice and Information Form for Foreign Students’ Short-term Visa (DQ) via email. Applicants must enter China with a student visa (X2). Ensure that a valid email address and phone number are provided on the application form.
Applicants must report to the school on the date specified in the admission notice. If unable to report on time, prior approval from the school is required; otherwise, admission will be considered forfeited.
Submitted application materials will not be returned.
