1. Course overview

Schedule:

• Five-week course: July 7 to Aug 8, 2025
• Three-week course: July 7-25, 2025

Class hours: Monday to Friday, 9 am to 12 pm (Beijing Time)

Registration: July 4, 2025

Venue: Yan'an Road campus, Donghua University

2. Course offerings

• Chinese language courses: Enhance daily communication skills from beginner to advanced (up to 10 levels). Placement is determined via an online test, with a minimum class size of eight students.
• Cultural enrichment: Engage in lectures and activities exploring Chinese customs, including character culture, cuisine, painting and calligraphy, traditional Chinese medicine, and Chinese knot making.
• Practical language use: Participate in real-life exercises outside the classroom to improve communication skills, such as navigating shopping malls and busy streets.

3. Fees

Registration fee: 400 yuan ($55.15)

The registration fee is waived for students who have studied at DHU before or are recommended by an international student who previously or is currently studying at DHU.

Tuition:

• Five-week course: 6000 yuan
• Three-week course: 3600 yuan

Payment options: Cash, UnionPay card, WeChat pay, Alipay, Visa/MasterCard.

4. Completion and certification

• Students who complete the three-week course will receive a certificate of study without a final exam.
• Students who complete the full five-week course and pass the final exam will receive a graduation certificate.

6. Application and admission

Process:

• Submit an online application at https://admissions.dhu.edu.cn/
• Upload required documents, including a scanned passport homepage (in PDF format) and an electronic front-facing ID photo (in JPG format).
• Pay the registration fee following email instructions and await school review.
• Admission decisions are typically made within two to four weeks.

Deadline: May 15, 2025

Notification: Successful applicants will receive email instructions for online testing and registration.

Textbooks: Provided by the school.

Insurance: To ensure students have adequate protection while studying in China, they must purchase insurance covering their study period before arrival to China and provide proof during registration.

Refund policy: Registration fees are non-refundable. Tuition is fully refundable before the course starts, but no refunds thereafter.

Class placement: Based on online test results. Level changes are possible within the first week, subject to policy.
